This too. It was more difficult to have a lot of hit singles back in the day because of that, more people were buying the albums instead.
Oh well, Madonna hold that record a very long time and if someone had to beat that record, i'll rather see Taylor doing it. That doesn't take anything away from Madonna

I think it was 1st that it 'could' sell more than BTW then it was that it might reach 500k and it wasn't until the day the numbers would be revealed that they said it had a chance of being over 600k and I think it debuted with a fairly large amount more than 600k.
but now she needs 3 songs.. and she'll rekease 4 more singles!!
