Diamonds is a very good single...
I am not even that much of a Rihanna fan when she's not in danceable/club numbers and this song conquered me straight.
I am sure many like the demure-ness of Diamonds sound.
Radio is up for her too.
And her album is introduced by this song, which makes generally the lead-in single being really spun more and more as the release date approaches, generally increasing the song's sales.

She may well be competitive for the top spot I think

I am not a fortune teller so of course I might be wrong, but all signs point to a very good performance Diamonds is having/gonna have so far.
