The Hardline According to Terence Trent D'Arby has everything a real deal fan of Rhythm and Blues would want - allusions to the golden age of soul, with more than a head nod to the state of current (late 80s, in this case) music. Most of all, it has singing - REAL singing. A man, really singing? Unheard of now, expected then.
