If you go to 'search' on top of every page there's an option called 'search in blog texts only'

It's an underlying issue I've had for a long time. Who's to decide what defines a nickname and what doesn't?

I think we should just avoid nicknames in general aside from using them in allowed threads. But if you insist on doing so, make sure it's as subtle as possible. I've done it a million times on certain threads and they went by unnoticed.

I don't want to use them though; that's the point. People will be warned for using 'nicknames' but can freely insert an artist's name into a word without consequences. But what's the difference? Both in involve substituting part of the word for the artist's name but there's absolutely no clarity on what's acceptable and what isn't.

Exactly. If you mangle an artist's name with another word, you risk and already have a quite high chance to be reported and warned.

You can tell. Saying "rihanna is historih" is not nicknaming. Its a pun on a word not a name. Saying rihtard is history is nicknaming. It's not difficult .
