The tour doesn't make up for anything though, as much as some like to argue. She's been absent from radio for almost an entire year now. Considering that radios barely played You and I and paid dust to Marry The Night. That's an eternity in pop world.

She's in between album cycles. Why would she be anywhere on the charts right now? It made no sense to say "where is she [on the charts]?" because if she did have a current era she'd be very high on the charts and you know it.

Well, for other girls, there is not a gap between album cycles, so it should be assumed that all of them should have a steady flow of hits at the ready when it's time to move on to the next one.

I know what you meant, but she is touring after all. The gap is... longer than what some may think it should be, but it is what it is. If she's not putting material out to be charted, then she won't be charting. Simple.

Actually it all comes down to timing really.

If Taylor had released WANEGBT to radio on the Thursday of that week, it would have counted as the same week in which she got 600K+ sales. She would've debuted at number one easily.

Because she released it to radio in the last few days alloted for the previous chart, she debuted at 72 and then vaulted to 1 the next week.

EDIT: And she had no streams whatsoever.
