Yeah. I guess they think they have a shot this year! It has to have a limited release in LA. It can run for like a week and they can do a wide release next year.

yeah maybe good idea... cause a worldwide release would be too soon in Dec.. even if I can't wait to see it... but they could have their chances for the Oscar for sure

It has a LOT of hype coming from all those festivals though. I actually think a December release might work for them. Then again, it would be cool to be released during Spring Break.

But Selena's albums get a huge boost in nov/dec, maybe the same thing would hold true for her movies. Bunch of teens with christmas cash...?

An right now the movie is getting a lot of press! I don't want them to release it in december and then it leaks online and they release it next year.

For Best Picture? Honestly no.
But I can see James Franco possibly getting a supporting actor nod. I mean, that Bridesmaids lady got a nomination for her comedy role..

The release could have an impact maybe... these would be 2 good periods. But Dec well there's Xmas ... it's more about kids/family movies & SB is already rather cut on the public audience due to the ratings so dk

u got right on that.. Sel's music has indeed a huge push ion Dec.. but don't forget the ratings on SB.. it'll be rated R so not really for kids.. it will really depends on more grown up & adult audience this time... so .. but yes true I don't want it to leak online if there's an early Dec release

Yeah. I think they matter. Like September is usually a bad month for movies. And I don't think a summer release against blockbusters would be a good idea either. March would be perfect.
