The more I think about WYB the more I dislike it, you would think a Whitney/Mariah duet would absolutely SLAY but somehow it was very dull and lackluster. Came at the wrong time I guess, imagine if it came during the Emotions/Bodyguard era

I think the problem is Mariah didn't write or co-write it. She's always more lackluster on tracks in which she had no creative involvement.

I disagree. I don't think it's their best work, but I've always found "When You Believe" genuinely stirring. Something about it works for me, even if it's on a more basic level. It's a more interesting and warm song than a lot of those showy '90s ballads.
