It wouldn't be worth applying this methodology to the "pop" chart, because it would hardly make any difference. For example, the top 10 this week would've been the same as the Hot 100's top 10, except with Red not charting (and everything below it moving up a place).

I'm still relieved they didn't mess it up even if it would have been little change, the top 40 radio chart is kinda sacred for me.
Could you imagine if they did that? Glee songs and every Justin Bieber promo single would chart on the Top 40/Pop Songs chart.
I'm not here for that.
That's what I was thinking! it would have been horrible, 1D for example would have debuted in the top 3 this week and many new random new releases debuting in the top 10!
It would have lost all credibility, it is meant to track the most played songs on top 40 radio in a given week. It's cool they didn't touch Adult Pop too.
If the change happened in 2009, then sweet dreams and halo could have been #1, im here 4 dat. But seriously this change is a mess, monica, mary and all the others will never have a top 10 song
This is horrible. A lot of Pop songs will end up #1 on the R&B chart. OMG poor R&B artist work so hard just to get in the top 10 now anyone can just shoot to #1.
My thought exactly. Brandy almost had that #1 and now she got knocked out the top 10 by several POP songs.
They need to categorize songs by their proper genre's or this change is an absolute mess.
This is horrible, I don't know who got the idea but it's ********. They just killed the RB charts, it will be filed with songs R&B radios don't play and UAC artists won't chart at all.
Yes, now the official country songs charts = Country Airplay + Digital Sales.
The timing is perfect for Taylor Swift because We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together was going to be her first single to miss the top 10 on country songs and with this change it jumps from #21 to #1
