Lady Gaga is growing more and more overrated on this site by the day. I remember when I bought that album back in 2008, the fame, it had some good songs,so did the fame monster. But fact of the matter is her music is not that innovative. Its just good ero style dance pop. She is a fashion icon, but I dont think she has that classic album. Out of all the pop stars though, she has the best chance of releasing one in the near future, because of her ambition.

11 out of 12 of Gaga's singles are dance songs. Ne-Yo's discography has more variety. So you can stop.

His singles have more variety sis, but his discography is R&B, Pop, and Electro. While Gaga has done both R&B, Pop, and electro herself, and she's ventured into rock and Jazz. (I think Ne-yo has done jazz himself). Their discographies are full of variety.

And what he is saying is right. Lady Gaga music wise has slumped and is far from an icon. And the people bringing up the moot point about hits and being pressed. Are ya'll really that dense. Do You Know Who Ne-Yo Is? Ne-Yo has written hugely popular songs that may be considered iconic in days to come. Ne-Yo is extremely talented songwriter, dancer, performer and singer. I don't think Ne-Yo should be acting like Gaga is some flop with a nonexistant career at this point, or say she will never become an icon. But he does bring up some good points, and he needs to include himself into the eqation of being an artist who won't stand the test of time

Singles discography is what I was getting at. Which represents what he can do to people, because let's face it: singles are what most people hear through radio exposure.

We know she's a versatile artist, yes. But most people don't because she sells herself as strictly dance when she's perfectly capable of doing other styles that are not written off as low-brow with more aptitude than she does with dance. Her singer-songwriter material is more natural to her, however much she or some fans would disagree.

I mean. Look at how at home she is at the piano.

Okay just making sure cause you know some people would misinterpret that as such. But yeah it's true his singles have way more variety. I'm actually okay with her sticking to dance and pop. It is what she is and it's where she shines best. But seriously though how can people NOT see her as a pop icon. As much as I want to respect what Ne-Yo is trying to say, he is obviously opening up his mouth without getting himself educated first and it's so obvious he didn't think through his comment. He's ill-informed, and while I will say I don't yet consider Lady Gaga an icon, I do think he isn't giving her credit where credit should be given. Entering what is essentially her fourth era and fifth year of popular relevance, Lady Gaga is widely recognizable and a household name. She's bordering on icon status and if you're not willing to admit it, you're being unreasonable.

It depends on your definition. The last undeniable one would be Britney Spears.

Yes you do, honey. Britney Spears topped the chart last year and followed it up with two additional smash singles. Rihanna has been going strong in the industry with a huge string of hits for the past seven years. Beyoncé has been going strong for a decade with her recent "flop" still producing some popularity for herself.

I hardly even understand what kind of point he was trying to make with that one. It's a stupid comment. You can't say there aren't any artists around to "stand the test of time" anymore when you haven't given them the chance to take it yet. I bet you we will continue to have them.
