I do feel a bit bad for people waiting still oh well

I'm done with that thread because doing all those requests by myself were far too tedious and I just simply grew tired (and annoyed) with dealing with it.

Plus, some people requested far too often and I will not be taken advantage of.

Step 1: Find a Youtube video you would like to use to create a gif. Download this program to save Youtube videos to your computer in HD (you will need this program later on, so you will need to download it.)

Step 2: Paste the URL of the Youtube video into the youtube converter, and make sure the box that says "Download Quality" says "Best Available." Also note underneath the Download Quality box, is where the video is being saved to.


Step 3: Click the "Convert" tab on the Youtube downloader. Select the video file and make sure it says "Ipod Video (Apple Quick Time MOV)" in the "Convert Video To" box. Photoshop only recogonizes .MOV videos.


Step 4: Once converted, go into Photoshop and click "File" and scroll over "Import" Click on "Video Frames to Layers.."

Step 5: Select your converted .MOV video and click "Load." Once the new window has popped up, make "Selected Range Only" is selected. In the bar underneath the video click around where you want the gif to begin. Hold in the shift key and drag the slider until a little bit after where you would want the gif to end. Then click "Okay".


Your screen should look like this:


If it doesn't click "Window" at the top and make sure "Animation" in checked. If not, click it.

Step 6: Holding in your shift key, click the first frame and the last frame of the part you DON'T want in your gif. Click the trashcan at the bottom of the animation window. Make sure that the bottom left corner of the animation window says "Forever". If not, click it and select "Forever"


Step 7: Click File and click "Save for Web and Devices" Once the window pops up hit "Save"


Step 8: Go to TinyPic.com and choose the file. Make sure video is the file type and you are in High Definition. Then hit upload.


And there you are.



Also note, you can preview your gif at anytime in photoshop by hitting the space bar.
