Racism is still prominent in the US, as it is in other parts of the globe. I think he came to that conclusion because of the ethnicities in the US; a majority of the demographic here is still caucasian. It's a really off-putting thought to think that people would care more about a certain ethnicity over another just based on the fact that they are the same ethnicity.
