The general public won't like it if there were male artists acting like rihanna, gaga and others, and they will be attacked viciously and will be accused of being gay, I mean people believe that bruno is gay because of just the way you are and grenade.
Justin's the most critically acclaimed mainstream artist of the millennium and the most critically acclaimed act from his generation for a reason (and Usher's far from being on Justin's level.)
Please stop acting like Justin Timberlake was anything different from Usher. They made the same type of r&b/pop, did the same MJ dance moves and had the same type of fans. And Usher and Justin are like the Britney/Beyonce of male pop, then Bieber is Gaga, Bruno is Katy, Chris is Rihanna, Pitbull is Kesha, Flo-Rida is Nicki, and so on and so forth. It's clear that male and female popstars are EQUAL, so wats the issue?
If male artists tried to be unique and creative they may be branded 'gay'
THIS! Anything outside the box done by a male artist would be questionable and "weird".
And dead at you saying Bruno is flopping when he's coming with a new era that will snatch all them females' wigs
Most females now are just acting weird, wearing ****ed up clothes to stand out because most of their music is generic as **** (there are always exceptions of course)
In pop, the industry typically only wants; a) MJ clones, b) acoustic guitar guys and c) urban acts. Occasionally R&B and rock artists sneak in too, depending what's en vogue.
We don't get more interesting male popstars these days because they're seen as a risk, so labels don't invest...or they conform them to something more marketable. Labels know that teenage girls are who they have to attract, so any sign of camp pop is seen as negative nowadays. You can't have a guy pulling Gaga-esque theatrics, singing bubblegum pop like Katy, or flirting with sexuality like Rihanna because it'd all be seen as "gay".
He has a stigma on ATRL for being too gay or whatever but his music is better than any of his contemporaries. Seriously check out his Trespassing album and tell me what other male popstar is servin gay club bops, octave stretching ballads AND piano-dubstep ballads

This.
Male artists can only experiment so far with their work before they step out of the tightly wound binds of what is considered "masculine". So for most, it's either post-MJ pop, hip hop roughness, R&B ladykiller or rock/country guy.
The only male artist in the past few years that really broke barriers was Kanye, who started to explore fashion, which then changed the limits (slightly) on how rappers could visually express themselves. His case is unlike David Bowie or Prince, who were pretty singular in their visual expression- they were respected and lauded for (or in spite of) how they dressed, but the looks didn't really trickle down and affect how other performers saw themselves, I don't think.

No
Adam became the FIRST and ONLY gay artist to top Billboard this year. His iconic Ama's perfromance caused a worldwide controversy and he makes the SAME music the pop girls make, which is different from what male popstars do (r&b/pop).

Lots of artists make the same type of music as pop girls now. For example, Let Me Love You by Ne-Yo, Don't Wake Me Up by Chris Brown, Scream by Usher.
To be honest, the only person who's still doing the R&B/pop type of music is Justin Bieber. The rest either do full on euro-dance-pop or full on urban now.

No. That's geenric dance-pop music. I'm talking "electronica and 90's house music". Not just a Dr Luke produced "club banger". It seems male popstars are scared to go out the box in fear of being labelled weird, but what they don't understand is that the pop world NEEDDDDSSSS male popstars to be fearless like Bowie, MJ, Freddie Mercury and Prince.
None of the other boys would DARE to make songs like these tho.
And that's EXACTLY my point. It seems that gay male popstars are in a different league from their straight counterparts.

Sorry, but can we please not make sweeping generalisations about people based on their sexual orientation. Adam being gay doens't make him better than anybody else. And if he is better than other male pop stars, it's not because he's gay, it's because he's more talented and has better songs. This is nothing to do with sexual orientation.
None of those songs I mentioned are produced by Dr. Luke. Yes, they're generic dance-pop, and that is what all the pop girls do too. Exactly the same, just different vocalists.
For example, Disturbia by Rihanna was originally for Chris Brown's album. DJ Got Us Fallin' in Love was originally sent to Rihanna. And so on, there's lots of examples of this. They're all the same.

Duca Maybe for you but not for all. You compare Justin Timberlake from the beginning to Usher's Songs from 2010-12 lmao and just list generic Songs and hide the NOT GENERIC Songs and then you list Justin Timberlake under "the most critically acclaimed mainstream artist of the millennium..."
FACT IS: Justin Timberlake=Timbaland. The same with Nelly Furtado=Timbaland.
So just look at Nelly Furtado for some years ago and look at her now, the most don't care about her music anymore just look at her Album sales... because she isn't the Nelly without Timbaland and the same would happen to Justin Timberlake so he also could move on and make some generic Songs, but you act like he would never ever do it... Justin's last Single was on? 2007? So just think a minute and compare 2006/2007 music especially (R&B/Pop) with 2010/12 music. Or compare the old Rihanna with the new Rihanna, She and Usher are doing the same thing, both were R&B artists and now they are also recording Pop & R&B.
I like both artists but I prefer Usher because he has more talent for me, he sings better live, he can dance better etc. especially he doesn't let his fans wait 100 years for a new Album.

All of those names you listed except for MJ are in rock and there are plenty rock bands/ acts like them
Bruno Mars is far from flopping .. he is the most successful male artist, even more successful than JB.
I do agree with you. Female pop artists like Gaga, Beyonce, Katy, Rihanna and Ke$ha, P!nk are all unique in their own way. Bruno is the only one i find unique at the moment. Forget bout Pitbull, Flo Rida and David Guetta who isn't singing at all
