True though, the only rap song which song which brought good success was BITT, which peaked at #7 on Hip-Hop chart, which was a bit underwhelming for Onika's standards

re-releases aren't suppose to sell massive. she just has too many songs out right now and it's confusing the public. she should take the rihanna approach and alternate between releasing pop and urban/crossover

She can't have an Urban crossover, unfortunately.

The rap side won't do well on Pop

The Pop side won't do well on Urban. TBH, the only song I feel had crossover potential is RBMS, and we all know how that turned out

I think HOV Lane is the strongest urban track (that isn't Roman Holiday), but she's not really acknowledged it much or anything.

It's the most radio friendly rap song on the album.

The Boys is current US urban single, from the upcoming re-release. Nicki's current mainstream/proper US single is still Pound The Alarm. The Boys isn't getting a mainstream release in the US, and isn't getting released as a single at all internationally.

Internationally, we're already onto the next mainstream/proper single, which is Va Va Voom. This will likely be the next mainstream/proper single in America too.

The re-release and its singles are just for urban fans and urban radio in America.

I hate how people generalize the entire board like we're all one person or group of people. I like to think that alot of people are like me and enjoy pop Nicki and Hip-Hop Nicki...they both **** IMO. VVV is a bop and a smash if you like pop music. It should've been released after Starships if she was going to re-release this year anyway.

And yes, the era is getting messy...too much cross promotion. If I'm not mistaken Starships still has decent recurrent airplay, she's released too many songs on urban to count, now The Boys and VVV while PTA is still active on the charts. Its fairly ridiculous

PTA has peaked.

But yes they could have done better at the dual release.

Also,to the other person re-releases are expected to sell. It will sell well enough to get the album over 1M by years end. I just want the other songs to have more quality than the boys.
