Exactly. Tbh I think you can use money better than spending it on music videos. Some great artists I know have videos without special effects and they could still be considered good, given the use of symbols in it etc. Many people critisized the AG video for its lack of storyline. I would have loved to see the death scene too, but you can understand the story by watching the symbols and that's more impressive than the obvious. I've actually grown to love that video.
Besides, I think Kelly had nice ideas for videos this era. She incorporated the flashmob, that was new. It seemed a little cheesy, but it was an interesting, unique idea. I actually think Kelly is a greater, smarter artist than most expect her to be.
Just think about how consistent MD was. The music, the lyrics, the production, the album photo shoot and the videos created the atmosphere and the image of the album in a way I've rarely seen before. You can find a lot of interesting things if you interpret the lyrics and the way they are acted out.
It would have been nice if one of them had some acting from her and a linear storyline to it.
