While I don't think it looks attractive, that's his personal style and if it makes him feel cool, then cool. That being said, that extreme length *is* gonna be distracting in a high school setting.

I agree I think it's actually deserved in this case though.
You have to present yourself a certain way in any environment. You can't go to a job with that hairstyle, just like you can't go to an interview with your pants sagging, which could also be a form of individuality. A school setting has rules, and if they find something like that distracting, then I don't see what the problem is.
People are so ignorant. Sure I think it's ugly but it's his hair, no one should tell him what to do with it.
I find sweatpants and flip flops distracting and disgusting and as much as I'd like them banned, it's not my business what goes on other people's bodies (unless they are friends or family and I'm obligated to burn them ).

Sweatpants and flip fops are hardly distracting to the average person and won't stop anyone from focusing in class.
