I dont know why her label thinks even if it has the tiniest bit of country influence a song must be remixed, I doubt any CHR listener is gonna be like "OMG I hear a tiny bit of fiddle in this song I absolutely cannot have this!" CHR is supposed to be variety, Taylor could easily introduce some country flair to the pop scene this era.

This!!!! I actually thought MEan would have done better on pop than TSOU but it was apparently too country for her label to even think about it :/ Begin again is certainly an earworm type song that just sticks in your head all day and that is what smashes on Pop these days so I think it would do great

Simply put, country music just sounds best on her, Her voice, song writing style and personality just fits it like a glove. Not that her pop stuff is bad, but she is SO in her element when she does a song with country flair like this and itunes agrees

+1, Its getting rave reviews and it is actually really catchy. I also thought Mean couldve been an all format hit, its catchy and cute and sassy, no pop listener's ears are gonna melt if they hear some of banjo btw

I mean BMR should give the songs a chance , why not send the original version THEN send the Pop version if it flopped .

The only thing that makes other Country acts sound more Country than Taylor is the Country-tone in their voices .
If Carrie or Miranda sung any Taylor song they would've made it sound more Country-ish .

I think Taylor could cover a Carrie song, feature a banjo, pedal steel and fiddle, recruit Loretta, Dolly and the ghost of Johnny Cash for some background harmonies and some of Carrie's fans would call it pop.

I'd love for Carrie and Taylor to duet on some crazy amazing country/pop song just to see the meltdowns.

Just to add I'm a huge fan of Carrie's. it's possible to love both of those gals. And Miranda too. Diversity is amazing.
