Sure, he wasn't asked at first - when Azealia was a nobody rapping over a beat like every nobody rapper does - but she never made any £££ off the song until she got his permission to sell it.

Okay fair point, but she still put the track up without consulting the artist at first is. Not every musician is just going to be like okay hand me the money and you can now sell the track. Lazy Jay went along with it, but clearly she isn't as lucky with Munchi. Unprofessional for her to start the video as well as single promotion without clearing up the credits.
Half of Azealia's fanbase is so braindead. I applaud the people that aren't giving Azealia clearance when clearly the track itself wasn't even cleared. What she's doing is not right. Munchi's new tweets also confirm that she went along with the video shoot, radio plays and whatever else without consulting him first. Interscope is now trying to bribe him with money because they got their priorities mixed up. I don't know how anyone can defend this? Where is the integrity? There's nothing at all wrong with her using his track on a mixtape for free, he has no right to talk about that part I agree. But when it moves into single territory it's another thing. The size of Azealia's label, fanbase and herself are obviously trying to seduce Munchi under the pressure. You guys can already listen to the track, it's not a big deal if it doesn't become a single. They should of had this **** cleared up after Fantasea drop once they got the hint of Esta Noche's popularity. Should of went to Munchi right away and humbly asked if they could work something out. If he had said no they could of sweeped it under the rug without already announcing all these plans for the track.
Any producer with a head on their shoulders will understand where he's coming from. To those saying he'll become more known as well as have a lot of money in his pocket or more known? I highly doubt he cares about money, ie: he's a real musician. He just needs enough to make it by. He already has a lot of followers on his soundcloud and worked with many respectable artists. He's at the top of the game, why the heck would he want more than that? If it was about the money you wouldn't hear anything about this.

BambooBanga, I'm not gonna quote you, but I agree 100%.
It was unprofessional. I think it's all-around unprofessional to release a mixtape song as a commercial single, anyways.
It's simply not really feasible to go about doing that, it's just a big mess tbh.
I also think Munchi is over-reacting a little, but I do mildly understand where he's coming from.

Where is the evidence that they didn't do this though? It was announced a MONTH ago on Azealia's twitter that they were doing a remaster for Esta Noche, and Munchi didn't say anything then. When he had his recent little meltdown, he said "tell you management the deal is off." They clearly had a deal, they didn't decide yesterday they were going to make this a single. And again, he's listed as a featured artist on the track, that's not something they would just elect to do on their own, that's something they did specifically to give him more of a cut of the profit, probably because he wanted it.
I just don't see the reason why we should believe Munchi is telling the whole truth when he waited until the day of release to say ANYTHING. This wasn't new info to the general public, much less him.
I understand where he is coming from, but what he's saying and the realities of the situation surrounding the song simply don't add up.

Because when unbiased people familiar with her history have to pick someone telling the truth between Azealia and other person, they usually pick the other person... lol

What lies on this scope has she told before, exactly?
This is like Lana with the "oh her managers just invented her" criticism. It's a reputation, not a reality.

I don't understand this point. You're quite literally saying that he has nothing to lose because he's at the top of his game, which means he has no reason to be mad. Why should he be angry when on top of what he's already done, he'll be featured on Azealia's track as well as earning a bit of money. Both parties are handling this unprofessionally, but it's clear that there is something they're not telling us.

@LanTheKing: He likely does not feel proud of her dub over of his track so he feels attaching her name to him would be a wrong move. He'd likely just be remembered as the guy who produced that azealia banks track despite he's done much more than that. Seems to be more about his image than anything and there's nothing wrong with that when artistic talent is concerned.
@Collin: Thanks! At the least I agree he shouldn't be calling her names and he's not really taking the highroad in all this. Though I can understand his frustration.
@Jameson: It's possible, but I'm pretty sure him saying the deal was off was more in response to the fact that he had considered letting the track clear at one point. He was probably more turned off by his lack of involvement in the track after they remastered and shot a video or at least partly and all of a sudden announced it being released the next day. We'll probably never get all sides to the story to be honest, but she just needs to handle it better from now on.

Oh okay, I see your point now and it makes a lot more sense. While I agree he can do whatever he wants and set up whatever image he wants, I think this is a poor career move to have blatantly called out Azealia on this. They both could have done this far more professionally. /sigh

Why doesn't she just cancel this mess and send out "1991" to Itunes instead

Is the whole song a sample? Like the heavy dance part?

Yes, she is just rapping over the Esta Noche instrumental track by Munchi. Just like a lot of artists rap over random beats they find/like for mixtapes.
Munchi's track is also entirely a sample of Get It On Tonite, besides the bass and the high synth.

 Omg.
Are you ****ing serious? There's HAIR on this cover, it's 100% clear that Azealia is nothing but a COPYCAT because there's HAIR in the AIR. I assumed Munchi was an idiot for calling out **** on Twitter, but not this big of an idiot.

Oh, ok. For some reason I thought the only part of the sample was the older sounding part of the song. I really like this song though and the single cover is so fierce it's crazy.

Gerl, if you mean the song, then it is on iTunes. Go spend your coiN.
And yas 1991 > Esta Not Happening.
I'll even go so far as to say that it's better than the ever so flawless NeedSumLuv. 1991 is her best song and video to date.
... Sh*t lemme go vogue to her video.

Well the dance breakdown is original, but yeah the verses and chorus are all samples.
I guess all they have to do is get a new producer to do the track with the same sample but a better less ear piercing breakdown

So what's going on? Is it not getting released?
This is her fourth best song, behind 212, Liquorice, and 1991, so I want answers.
