I'm not sure if it was just me but I started lacking interest in the previous (TTT) era and that's caused me not be that excited for this announcement. I really don't think she should of performed Cockiness at the VMA's. Imagine if the viewership was actually up this year to the 14 million mark. It would mean that a lot of the general public (/people who watched the VMAs or just watched the performances) would think that Cockiness was the next single.... 2 weeks later, we actually do get a new lead single.

It's sorta like Cheers and WFL all over again.

Is anyone else not really that excited to hear the dance songs on the album. I just feel like they've been done and I'll only wanna hear them if I know they are "pushing the boundaries" or Rih experimenting in a quite new genre what the other girls haven't done before.

I'm kinda happy VMA flop this year
It made Cockiness flop and doesn't make her overexposed on radio before "Diamonds"
and Def Jam let WHYB die before starting the new era
This is like the longest we went without something new from Rihanna smashing on radio&Itunes

I've just seen this comment on Rap-UP on the Rihanna post:

I don’t understand. If you never take time off to actually enjoy life and experience different things, what is your music going to be about? If everyone else is writing your music, when are we ever going to experience YOU?

They have a really good point. I really hope that later on in her career we get to see the real Rih again. :/
