‘Pretty Little Liars’: 10 Most Mind-Blowing Moments From Season 3
We still have almost two months until Pretty Little Liars airs its Halloween special, but I’m OK with that, because that’s how long it will take me to recover from the endless parade of surprises in the first half of season three. To help you make sense of the madness yourself,
HollywoodLife.com narrowed down the season’s 10 biggest shockers (so far), and we want to know which one(s) left you totally speechless.
1. Alison’s grave is empty! The third season started with a bang — or, rather, a scoop — when the girls’ discovered that someone had stolen Alison’s body from her grave.
2. Mona freaks out at Caleb! When Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) accused Mona (Janel Parrish) of being a lousy kisser in episode three, the mental patient showed him what her mouth does best: SCREAM!
3. Melissa admits she lied about her pregnancy! The girls’ suspicions of Melissa (Torrey DeVitto) were confirmed in episode three when she admitted to faking her pregnancy long after having a miscarriage. I’m starting to wonder if she was ever pregnant at all!
4. Hanna & Wren kiss! I’ll never forget where I was when “Wrenna” was born in episode eight: On my couch, shaking my head in disbelief. (Let’s hope this never happens again!)
5. Ezra’s a daddy! When Ezra’s (Ian Harding) brother Wesley Fitzgerald (Gregg Sulkin) came to Rosewood in episode nine, he brought more than just his chiseled good looks; he also brought along the mother — wait, make that father — of all family secrets!
6. Maya gets kidnapped — on camera! I still have goosebumps from the chilling moment in episode 10 where the girls watch security footage of a shadowy figure snatching Maya (Bianca Lawson) outside the Kahns’ cabin.
7. Spencer battles a snake! The liars are used to dealing with snakes (hello, Noel Kahn!) but Spencer (Troian Bellisario) got up-close-and-personal with the real deal in episode 11. I’m never using a public dressing ever again.
8. Toby & Spencer have sex! Spencer gave Toby (Keegan Allen) a “welcome home” roll in the hay in episode 12. Little did she know she was sleeping with the enemy!
9. Caleb gets shot! We still don’t know who shot Caleb in episode 12, but I know someone who’d be more than willing to nurse him back to health: ME! I mean… um… Hanna (Ashley Benson)!
10. Toby is “A!” As we all suspected, Pretty Little Liars saved its most mind-blowing surprise for last when Toby was revealed to be the second member of Mona’s “A” team on episode 12.

Our 10 Biggest Questions After the Pretty Little Liars Season 3 Summer Finale
The Pretty Little Liars Season 3 summer finale (Season 3, Episode 12: “The Lady Killer”) cleared up a lot, but it also opened up a whole new can of worms, and left plenty of questions unanswered.
We told you our 10 biggest questions going into the finale. Now
here are the 10 biggest questions we have going into the Winter Season.
1. Who killed Alison DiLaurentis (Sasha Pieterse)? Obviously, this is still a huge question.
2. What's the history of Toby's (Keegan Allen) involvement with the "A" team? When did he join? Why? Is he full-on evil, double crossing the "A" team, or somewhere in-between? Does he love Spencer (Troian Bellisario) at all? The big reveal raises so many questions!
3. Who visited Mona (Janel Parrish) while wearing red at the end of Season 2, Episode 25: “UnmAsked”? And is that person the head of the "A" team? If not, who is?
4. What does "Maya Knew" mean? And is there more to the videos on her website than we know? Even though we've learned the identity of Maya's killer, we don't think her story is over.
5. How is Garrett (Yani Gellman) linked to the "A" team? We have a couple of theories, but we want to know more. Why did Mona care about getting him out of jail?
6. What exactly happened "that night"? Knowing Toby is on the "A" team still doesn't fully clear up what happened, or exactly what the "A" team's end goal for Alison's (Sasha Pieterse) body is.
7. Is CeCe linked to the "A" team? Now that we know the "A" team was trying to set Paige (Lindsey Shaw) up, we suspect CeCe may have been in on it. And even if not, we feel like there's way more to learn about this stranger from Ali's past.
8. What in the world is up with Lucas (Brendan Robinson)? Is he on the "A" team? Is he being threatened by them? Why is he so sketchy all of the time?
9. How does Jenna (Tammin Sursok) fit in? Now that we know that Toby is on the "A" team, we're more confused about Jenna than ever. Is she really just misunderstood? Are she and Toby secretly on the same side? Does she have her own agenda?
10. Is Ali really dead? Did she have a twin? Still our favorite theories! As we said before, we won't let go of the idea that Ali and/or her possible twin is alive until it's either proven to be true, or declared totally and absolutely false by Marlene King herself.

TUMBLR THEORY: Future PLL Episode Titles Leading To A Very Dark Place
With the newly-released info that Season 3, episode 19 is going to be called”What Becomes of the Broken-Hearted”, I’ve been looking back at the titles following the summer finale. Early impressions tells me Season 3 is going darker than any of the seasons before it:
Starting from the summer finale and the BetrAyal:
3x12 - The Lady Killer
3x13 - This is a Dark Ride
3x14 - She’s Better Now
3x15 - Mona-Mania
3x16 - Misery Loves Company
3x17 - Out of the Frying Pan, Into the Inferno
3x18 - Dead to Me
3x19 -What Becomes of the Broken-Hearted
As we further progress into the episodes leading into the finale of Season 3, the titles only seem to forshadow even darker things to come.
Perhaps a pointless post, but I couldn’t help but notice this and start to wonder about what might be ahead for our little liars and their significant others. More importantly, how does this pertain to the future of Spoby?
As many of you already know,
episode 3x16 -Misery Loves Company is taken from a quote from early Season 1, where Toby is speaking to Emily in the woods.
Toby: I got friends in all the wrong places…and misery loves company.
Also, directly from Marlene King herself, this is also the very same episode one of the Liars will find out that Toby is somehow part of/connected to the A team.
A connection perhaps?
Then we have
3x18 -Dead to Me which is a quote from our very own Spencer Hastings herself. While fighting with Alison, having gotten fed up with her games, Spencer says this to our dead queen B on the night she went missing:
Spencer: And as far as I’m concerned, you are dead to me already.
Will this come in connection with Spencer finally learning about Toby’s secret? Or will this be connected to something else entirely? If it does indeed connect to Spoby, the following episode titel could also come into play pertaining to their relationship (or lacktherof if the writers are indeed setting us Spobettes up for heartbreak):
3x19 - What Becomes of the Broken-Hearted
Spencer heartbroken over learning the truth? … So many possibilities.
Being a true Spoby shipper, and one who refuses to believe that everything between Spencer and Toby up to this point has been a lie, still try to keep hope in our favorite couple. I try not to get discouraged by future titles that all have hints and clues in themselves. But one can’t deny the dark forshadowing the writers seem to want to show us.
Question is where the writers dare to take this storyline. Spoby is a pretty popular ship with a huge fanbase, not to mention that Marlene and Sara Shepard themselves like Spoby the best out of the shows main pairings.
Should this be taken as a sign that there indeed still is hope for Spoby, or are we just fooling ourselves and refuse to accept that maybe the end is near?
I still believe in Spoby, but I admit that with each new tidbit/tease/spoiler we get, the less likely it seems that they will be endgame, despite their immense popularity.
But maybe this is just the writers trying to spook us and mislead us. Their way of torturing us like A tortures the girls; forcing us to tune in to follow every step of the way into what will hopefully be a happy and good ending for our ship.
But what to make of Troian Bellisario’s latest interview, where she spills that a storm will happen once she finds out what Toby has been hiding and that by the end of the season,
Spencer’s life will have turned completely upside down?
And not to mention the many tumblr theories that Toby might even get killed off in the not too distant future due to this mess? The character did after all die pretty early in the books, and all that we’ve seen up til now has been Marlene’s creation of taking Toby further than anyone thought possible… The thought of Rosewood losing our lovely Cavanaugh (despite his unclear intentions at this point) is most certainly a frightening and hearbreaking thought. But not too far-fetched either. The original character in the book did die after all.
Is this also why Andrew is suddenly being brought into the picture? So many questions…
But my ultimate and finale question will in regard to all of this be:
How far are the writers willing to take this? Do they dare to break up yet another couple? One as popular and loved as Spoby, with one of the biggest — if not THE biggest - fanbase in all of PLL fandom? Will they dare to break them up forever by killing Toby like the killed Maya and destroyed Emaya forever? Are they willing to risk upsetting so many Spobettes and risk losing them as viewers? Loss of viewers = loss of rating = increased chance of cancellation.
Isn’t that a bit suicidal for the show?
Do they dare to play with fire like this?
What do you guys think?

Pretty Little Liars Burning Question: Why Did Mona Give the Liars Maya's Website?
With all the hubbub over Toby's (Keegan Allen) newly revealed "A" team status, there's been less attention paid to the original Pretty Little Liars villain. But Mona (Janel Parrish) is still an enigma, and after the Season 3 summer season, we have a lot of questions about her.
One of the biggest is,
why did she direct the Liars to Maya's (Bianca Lawson) secret website? It seems like a very helpful thing to do for someone who is supposedly working against our heroes. So what gives?
Here are six theories about why Mona gave the website to the Liars.
1. She thought it would help frame Paige. It's possible Mona thought the information on the website was vague enough that the Liars wouldn't realize the killer was Nate (Sterling Sulieman). If that's the case, it's possible she thought Maya's cryptic messages, along with the other seeds the "A" team planted, would help incriminate Paige (Lindsey Shaw) in the Liars's minds.
2. She needed help hacking it. Given the "A" team's proven technical prowess, this seems unlikely. But it's possible the "A" team couldn't get into the site themselves, and thought they could trick the Liars into helping them.
3. It's misleading. It's possible that Mona thinks all of Maya's hints about knowing something and being in trouble will lead the Liars down the wrong path in some way that is useful for the "A" team.
4. To hurt Emily. Maybe Mona thinks seeing Maya's videos will just plain cause Emily more pain. We know she has a sadistic streak.
5. To help the Liars as part of an "A" plan. As we've seen in the past, sometimes "A" "helps" the Liars in various ways, though that help is always part of a grand scheme. Maybe that's the case here. Perhaps there is something about Maya the "A" team wants the Liars to figure out.
6. To help the Liars … not as part of an "A" plan. Or maybe Mona was acting as an independent agent. It's possible she's starting to regret what she did, or disagrees with the direction the "A" team is taking now that she's locked up. While she seemed to be totally on board with the team plan in Season 3, Episode 12: “The Lady Killer,” it's possible that she actually has her own plan in the works.
Why do you think Mona did it? Let us know in the comments below.
