I mean with Beyonce, everyone was dragging her for lying like she's written songs that she didn't (i.e. Irreplaceable) and there was a lot of shade regarding her pregnancy ( how the hospital's floor was shut down, people couldn't even get to their newborns, etc.). Beyonce and Jay-Z just came under fire for how much money they've actually donated last year yet they put up this big humanitarianism front.

That wasn't even real
And is this poll a joke?

People are saying Rihanna isn't black because she's not African American??? African American =/= black. Being of African descent, no matter nationality, is what makes someone black. Like I said, more women respect Beyonce in the black community (and that's changing), but everyone else respects Rihanna more (black men as well as people of various ethnic backgrounds).

But the Navy are the ones trying to deny that Beyoncé is black.

Lies. Most people don't put the words Rihanna and respect in the same paragraph, let alone sentence. Just deal. It's ok.

Rihanna. I actually hear more guys respecting her though, for being stunning and saying whatever is on her mind. Beyonce is often ripped to shreads for lacking a true personality (which comes across in her interviews). It's like she's afraid to be who she is, she has to be what she thinks the media wants her to be, whereas Rihanna is just Rihanna no matter whose couch she is sitting on.

Beyonce is actually more respected by the black community. Many artists and others respect her, they know she is naturally pale, she actually uses bronzer. Besides that her music and the way she keeps her personal life private is praised.
Beyonce is more positively talked about in every community, even though you may have a few "dislikers" every celebrity has them though.
This thread is dumb.....

The only black people that look up to Rihanna are little tweens who are struggling to find themselves during puberty. The sexy raunchy image is all they love about Rihanna.
Beyonce is respected by the majority of the black community. From grandma's who see her as a sweet young girl, to ambitious working black women who idolize her work ethic. To even the president and the first lady. And the men who wish they had a woman who was talented, humble, sexy and hard-working.

I don't know anybody who said Beyonce wasn't black. You can obviously see she's a black woman. Black people come from Africa, Europe, South America, the Caribbean, as well as the United States so people saying Rihanna isn't black because she's not American are the ones who denied Rihanna is black, when she proudly proclaims it on Twitter all the time.

Not that it matters, this whole who's respected more thing, but can I get some receipts and surveillance footage?
It's just when people say broad things such as this it would help a great deal if there were something to see what they're basing it on.

And if you want to know what the black community thinks all you have to do is look at BET, which clearly favors Beyoncé.
IDK what some of you are in here talking about because Black men don't "respect" Rihanna. They just think she's hot.
And people don't respect Rihanna for being "real" and "open" about her sexual side. Those are the exact things she gets dragged for. And after the whole Chris Brown incident the entire community as a whole just poked fun at her and she lost whatever respect she had. The same goes for the talk about Drake, Meek Milli, etc.

Uh, Beyoncé and it's not even close. Young girls want to be Beyoncé and their parents want that too. While not many want to be Rihanna, their parents sure as hell don't want their daughter to be like her.
Not only that but Beyoncé has the respect of the President and the First Lady, I doubt they care very much for Rihanna, her music or her image.

Apparently Rihanna being hot and not being afraid to display her raunchy side = respect from black men

Most older women look up to people like Alicia Keys more than Beyonce. Beyonce is seen as highly overrated by the black community. They don't consider Rihanna overrated, because her music has more of a universal appeal rather than just the urban community. And work ethic? We are talking about Rihanna here! She's the busiest woman in the music industry today! Also, nothing about Beyonce is humble. That is just her trying to portray that image again. Listen to Diva and tell me if she's humble. Look at the gifts she had gotten for her baby as if Blue Ivy is more precious than any other woman's bundle of joy! As far as Rihanna being respected, like I said, more people say she is REAL. Whatever she does, it's GENUINE.
