I cannot believe this era is already beginning with a mess... and it didnt even start yet! :S
Everything will be fine in a week, I think. At least the new single will have a week's worth of hype compared to a couple of days or hours... however long they were planning to give us notice.
I have to wonder why Rihanna and Def Jam are pulling the "surprise!" tactic for this new era, though. The world tour was announced a couple of days before tickets went on sale, and now they were planning on just dropping a new single out of nowhere.
Anyway, this mystery and uncertainty is killing me. They better not drop a lead single just like that, but do a proper announcement AT LEAST a week before. That's the least I accept, if I already have to tolerate another yearly release.
That was so boring and annoying, since it was just a decoy for the public and DJ/Rih were just releasing stuff when they felt like it.
I do not want anything like that this era, I'd rather have an announcement saying "we're dropping something in a couple of days" rather than "working towards" new material or photos or whatever.
