58. Leona Lewis- Run (6.974)
Highest score: 10 x7 (HaHa2011, Strangergab, Glassheart, airbornE, classicmainstream, berberocka, Soma80)
Lowest score: 0 x3 (Stevie, madonnas, conseeded)
Leona Lewis live in concert:
This was a single that wasn't actually really meant to be a single. Recorded originally as an acoustic cover on Radio 1's Live Lounge, this Snow Patrol-penned song was made a single by absolutely phenomenal demand. The day after being recorded on Live Lounge, 8000 people requested it in the first 2 minutes of a morning radio show. Upon being released digitally, nearly 70,000 people downloaded it in 2 days- making it at the time the fastest-selling digital single ever. After being performed on the X Factor that year, Simon referred to it as "absolutely incredible", whilst on a less rosier side of the fence, Snow Patrol guitarist Nathan Connolly says of the cover; "Nothing against her, but I don't know if I'm going to endorse it". He must stan for Alexandra Burke.
Jinzo's verdict: 9.5
Hauntingly melodramatic. Gives me chills down my spine when she SANGS her way towards the climax of this song. One of the last times that I believe she was truly great.

I actually like Leona and believe her on this song. Her cover of "Hurt" is a crime against music, though.

Ya'll really need to cling to each other tight for this one.
58. (=) Girls Aloud- The Promise (6.974)
Highest score: 10 x9 (jinzo, Supaspaz, Mandarke, JDella11, Regina George, berberocka, Chemist, Soma80, Ace Reject)
Lowest score: 0 x1 (VJoker)
Oh Sarah, I love you:
Fuming!! Produced by Xenomania to, in quite frank words, launch Girls Aloud as a "super-group", it would become their last #1 for what is the forseeable future. The video sees the girls channeling The Supremes and finding their inner 60s chicks, and used a very Duffy-esque 60's pop tone to give the public a totally different side to the Girls they hadn't yet seen. The risk paid off- the song became their best-selling first week since Sound of the Underground, outselling previous #1 So What by a 2:1 ratio and selling 77,110 copies in that first week. It sums up in the entirety why just having The Saturdays around is absolutely diabolical.
Jinzo's verdict: 10
Perfect. Absolutely perfect. Mesmerising. I didn't think they'd ever get better than Tangled Up, but this single did just that. It was such an amazing time to be a Girls Aloud fan; in this moment they secured their untouchable legacy as girl band legends. Could not stan any more than that.

Amelle, you so classy:
Fuming! This Dr Luke produced SMASHE HIT became the Babes 4th lead single in a row to hit #1...and would ultimately be the last. Well, unless """"Jade Ewen"""" is doing it. Which that GARBAGE of human being is not.
Infamously, Owl's fave Miranda Cosgrove recorded a beautifully awkward cover and video for this song, which peaked at #47 on the Hot 100. Which is higher than the Sugababes have managed in 6 whole albums, I suppose.
Jinzo's verdict: 10
One of my favourite singles from the girls. I thought it was going to be an endless downward spiral without Mutya, but I was wrong. It was an endless downward spiral without Keisha.
