Like I said before, I've seen Shreya live and I said "one note" meaning she does the same type of song and vocal level all the time. it's great that that she sounds the same as the professional recording, but how is that notable when the recording isn't very challenging? Sunidhi is the better singer of the two. Also, reaching high notes is very important! Only good singers can do this and neither are better than Whitney Houston.
Of course Indian music is different from western music, but good singers are good singers no matter what they're singing.

Why do Indians always do this? Just because another person is guilty of the same thing doesn't make the person in question any less guilty. Deflection accomplishes nothing. People should accept problems and then try to solve them.
By the way, many black people in the west are preoccupied with their lighter people, but not to the degree Asians are. Rihanna is actually relatively light as she's heavily mixed like most black people here are and Nicki is part Indian so maybe that's why she loves wearing so much white powder on her face and her colored contact lenses.

Besides, it's illegal in the UK and most Asians there are westernized so their standards will be different. Still many western-born Asians will prefer fair skin and you'll notice the preference it when you spend time with them.

Middle of Selena is just being overly defensive. I lived in India for two years (and am currently on break there right now) and what you've said is pretty much spot on. Of course not all Indians desperately want to lighten their skin tone, I think that's fairly obvious. But there is a high demand - I can turn on my television right now and prove it.
I wouldn't know whether Priyanka actually uses any of these products because the celebs here endorse everything from vests to flip-flops, but yeah.

Actress Priyanka Chopra who's busy juggling her film promotions with the launch of her first single In My City is said to be thrilled with the excitement her fans are already showing.
Talking about her music, the actor had earlier said that she would want it to have Indian roots with a global appeal.
“I don't want my music to be region specific, but have a global feel so that anyone listening to it across the world can relate to it just as easily, much like Shakira’s music. It is very strongly connected to the roots but has a strong global flavour,” she'd said.
Sources close to the star maintain that the song featuring will.i.am will indeed be launched at the National Football League kickoff.

i am not denying yeah most of the indians r obsessed with pale skin but then generalizing for everybody is wrong i mean i know their r so many flaws but then things r changing here people r accepting inter religion marriages ,gay relationships etc i agree tho that a lot work is still needed to make india a proper country but just criticizing it everytime is just immature

Nicole is an excellent singer and is one of the few who can pull off that ending. Shreya cannot do that.

Where did I ever say that Bollywood and Priyanka Chopra are not Indian? And for the record, most Hindi movie songs are heavily influenced by foreign music, especially nowadays. For an example, "Zara Zara Touch Me" is a copy of a Chinese song.

Of course you don't. Not all Indians are ignorant and we all know that so there's no reason to defensive. What I said were just facts and critical of ignorant people (from any country). And yes, Americans do use beauty products and makeup, but they don't try to alter to skin color significantly. Skin color treatments are dangerous and illegal in many western countries.

High notes are important and the fact that you're denying this is evidence of your lack of knowledge when it comes to music. If a singer isn't versatile, how can she be considered a talented singer? Emotion is important, but doesn't contribute to any technical value. And yes, I have listened to plenty of Hindi songs so stop trying to undermine me.

Exactly. No one here is saying all Indians are like this, but it's a reality that exists and should not be denied, but unfortunately many Indians have the same attitude that Middle of Selena has. And I'm not talking out of my ass from watching Youtube videos. I've lived in Asia including India (Delhi and Jaipur), Singapore and Hong Kong.
I doubt she uses it, but the fact that she endorsed is what really bothers me. We were talking about Priyanka last week when you saw me avatar of her in the Shayne Ward thread and I said something to you about how if Indians don't support her, no one will. Likewise, if a dark woman isn't supportive of her type of color, why would anyone else? Not everyone is open-minded and goes out of their way to support "minorities" like I do.
