The fact she can slay in the summer with a ballad like Wide Awake is amazing. Those kind of songs are usually dead in the summer. Some how she is able to turn it into a hit and prove many doubters wrong.
Katy's summer singles slay, but that would mean the album would be out in late August. One of the reasons TD's sales failed to reach expectations was due to the time it was released in, August is simply not an ideal month to release.
She's getting for sure nominated for an Oscar for "Best Song In A Movie" as well as a Grammy nom for "Best song written for a movie". Capitol will make sure of that.

Isn't the Smurfs sequel supposed to be coming out Summer 2013? I don't see her having time to write/record an album and also doing voice work and movie promo. I still think we won't get an album until next fall (September/October 2013)
Meh, I don't really care about Grammys if I'm honest. It's not like her career depends on them, I mean, it took Madonna 12 years to get one and since then she has hardly been a Grammys dominatrix, and I'm pretty sure her Career is doing fine. If Katy is relevant in music long enough she's bound to get one at some point.
