Next week the only major single releases are The Killers (who I don't see hitting top 10), Owl City and Tulisa. P!nk has Alan Carr and the iTunes festival so she'll most likely stay in the top 5 next week.
Yeah out of those, I only see The Killers being a potential threat. Even then I don't think they will be!
I could've sworn that's how it works now with all this iTunes and downloading thing... I hope I don't listen to the wrong show!
If they announce the top 40 at around 2pm how can the cutoff point be 4 hours later? As far as I'm aware it's still Saturday night. Otherwise you'd get songs that come out Sunday charting with only a few hours of sales.

I think we definitely listen to different shows then. The one I listen to is 4-7pm. If the single comes out on the Sunday it won't be elgible to chart until the following Sunday!

Oh you're referring to the Vodafone BigTop40 chart which is just the itunes chart and is broadcast on radio stations across the UK. They have a live chart up until 6pm when they freeze the top 10 songs on itunes, so songs released on the sunday can chart in the top 10 on this chart but for the OFFICIAL UK singles chart they stop counting on the saturday I think. Does that make sense? The chart you're thinking of is just the itunes chart and isn't the official chart company

That's it! The Official Charts Show used to run in the same time slot before iTunes came about so I've been listening to it not realizing the time slots changed and assuming it's still the Official one!
