All pop stars are generic in one way or another, but some are just way more generic than others.
The ones who tend to be the most generic are usually singles artists (artists who can sell millions of copies of singles yet struggle with album sales), artists who have difficulty selling tour tickets or / and artists who get a lot of spins on radio (Flo Rida, Pitbull and some of the examples the OP provided).
