Ok, that’s how I feel about ORA for now:
Track by track review:
1 – Facemelt (10/10) – It’s my everything … it really is! That TLC vibe so naticeable in this track makes me smile every time. BUT the person who did made this intro should be fired immediately! To me it seems they really didn’t make any effort, they just CUT it. It should either fade slowly or turn into Roc The Life smoothly. But why should they try harder since it’s only an intro, right?

I really don’t see why Facemelt couldn’t be at least 3 minutes long…
2 – Roc The Life (9/10) - One of my favourites that really got me into Rita. But I simply can’t ignore the fact that the studio verion is the worse one. Each time I listen to this song I hope she will scream Oh, I wanna Roc The Life.
3 – How We Do (Party) ( 3/10) - it’s nothing more than a radio-friendly song. I didn’t really got the party and bull**** vibe. It’s a a average track that was released on purpose.
4 – R.I.P. (2/10) - It’s a reject and it sounds like one. There’s something off in the production. IMO it’s just messy.
5 – Radioactive (4/10) – I don’t really get the hype behind this track. It’s good for radio? Yes. It might do sth in US? – Yes. But there’s nothing that special in it to me. It doesn’t make me want to listento it over and over again.
6 – Shine Ya Light – (7.5/10) I didn’t really get into that song when she performed it live, but since I heard the studio snippet I just knew I’m gonna like it. And I do. The reggae vibe, the way she sings in verses, even a bit childlish (pre)hook it all slows well. It’s a good song.
7 – Love + War (6/10) – It was one of my favs after first time listening to it. But it gets more and more repetative each time. I like the verses, but I feel both Rita and J.Cole could’ve try harder. This song misses some attention- grabing moment, the brigde or sth. I think I Rita could laid her voice with more power and let this song explode.
8 - Uneasy (3.5/10)– I get that Gwen Stefani vibe. The verses are good. But this song screams for a better hook, seriously. It’s just sooo bad, and that yeah part gets more annoys each time. In my case the hook make or ruins the song for me, and this time it ruined it for me.
9 – Fall In Love (1/10) – Well, I don’t really goint to waste my time to comment this ****ty track. All I wanna say it that I hope Rita will be embarrassed one day that she ever recorded. Thanks Will for giving me another track, I really can’t stand.
10 – Been Lying (7 /10) – I really like it. It’s just a cute listenable song. I like the instrumental too.
11 – Hello, Hi, Goodbye (7/10) – I like how Rita sings this song. She doesn’t really use her vocal with such a power in it. It makes her weaker and it really siuts the lyrics. But that weird thing on the the bit when she sings the verses realy gets on my nerves.
12 – Crazy Girl (9.5/10) – I love this song, the bit, the lyrics, I get another TLC influence, BUT I hate how it fades.
13 – Young, Single & Sexy (10/10) - It’s my #1 song on this album. Rita really killed it. The bit, the melody, the way she sings it. The breakdown. I should be a single someday.
14 – Meet Ya (10/10) - We got the real Rita in the very end! Much respect for that. It’s just a sweet summer song. Pure and simple.
Final Score = 6.4/10
It’s a decent album with ups and downs.
I’m start question buying ORA for now. Firstly, I’ve been buyng only deluxe editions, released phisically, and secondly, my favourite tracks are the bonus ones.
So.. I’ll wait hoping the Deluxe ORA will get released properly soon.
