Well, all those songs (apart from Friday) are very catchy aswell. You listen to them, and you just can't stop thinking humming them to yourself. Not to mention the lyrics are quite...um...interesting.
When I was a kid, there used to be a lot of cheesy europop songs being hits. Stuff like Aqua, Gina G, Vengaboys, Eiffel 65, etc. In my opinion, Rack City, Whistle, Like a G6, and all those types of songs (there've been a lot of them since the early/mid-00's tbh), are today's equivalent. The sorts of songs we'll look back on in the future, kind of embarrassed, but in a fond sort of way. Songs that get away with their trashy lyrics because they're simply so catchy, just like Barbie Girl back in the day.
Get it PSY, catchy song is catchy.
