Don't exaggerate the dubstep thing.. Jeff (the guy who tweeted that) admitted its a wrong description to call it dubstep. He clarified it should be popstep. Mostly a guitar driven song, ONLY the chorus has a pop steppy vibe.
Taylor gets it because she writes about her personal life, unlike most of the other prominent artists. Well, I guess Adele does, and Pink, Katy and Gaga have, but their personal lives aren't as interesting as Taylor's is.
I don't think it's right for critics to bring the personal life into the review; it's always a major eye roll for me whenever someone tries to justify "because she writes about her personal life, we're allowed to discuss her personal life." They should judge the song/album as it is, on its own merits, for better or worse.

I won't get my hopes too high; I thought there was some rule that prevented it from getting nominated at 1 of those shows. Unless they change or bypass the rule...

I thought of that...there was some rule that the song had to be first in credits or something...but HDD is usually very reliable so idk.

you would be correct but this wouldn't be the 1st time the oscars have changed the rules to help a song win.The last song to win despite breaking a rule would be Falling Slowly but I'm not sure what rule it broke but I know many people complained about it.
