Goodness, I'm no stan of hers, but you all need to let Taylor do Taylor. She knows what she wants to do with her direction.
What would've happened if Britney had never ventured out from bubblegum pop and released "I'm A Slave 4 U"? We wouldn't have any of her discography past her first two albums.
And what if Katy hadn't left her pop/rock roots? She wouldn't be tied with the king of pop for most number 1's from an album.
And if Rihanna hadn't transitioned from Caribbean dancehall when she released "Umbrella"? I don't think she wouldve gone far releasing repeats of "SOS" and "Pon de Replay".
And what if Shakira hadnt started making English music? Well "Hips Don't Lie" wouldn't be the biggest selling single of the 2000's.
There are many more examples, but you all get the point. Taylor knows what she's doing, so don't doubt her like this. Personally, I'm here for a new sound.

There were SO many Country artists who were able to change their sound without leaving the tradition. Example: Kitty Wells, Patty Griffin, Dolly Parton, Elizabeth Cook, and Loretta Lynn.
Hell even Johnny Cash who once was an Outlaw Country boy was successful while both evolving and staying true to Country roots.
It's not about staying the same. As an artist Taylor have to evolve. But she also needs to respect the Country tradition too since she's a Country artist first and foremost. Country is Country for certain reasons.
