Not really. digital sales for albums represent a very small portion of an album's total sales, especially in the UK. An album could be number 1 on itunes and not make it to the top 10 on the official chart.
I just listen to Intro by The xx for the first time, I never knew DOL ripped the song THAT much
I kinda makes me not like DOL as much because it's literally just Intro with Rihanna's vocals thrown on top. I would feel weird if Rih released it and it smashed.

It's not the only song to do that (RTW comes to mind). Plus, the instrumental on DOL is way better, with heavier drums and beats that are absent on the xx's song.

Yeah... but still. I have always thought RTW was using a cheap tactic by using Pon de Floor like it did and I guess I feel the same way about DOL now.
