Well, before, in like the 70s-80s, it was popular to release the singles on vinyls. Over time, it eventually got to songs being released on CDs. The physical format single died in the US in the late 90s, but in places like the UK, Germany, Australia, and Japan, they still make them.
Sadly, I don't think Nicole or Nicki has any of their singles released physically (besides "Starships"). Some good sites to buy them on are ebay, Amazon, and Discogs, a website devoted to finding multiple editions of albums/singles.
Now I rarely buy cds.
