She makes pop music, she is not a POP STAR. Come on. The public has a fairly narrow definition of this in their mind. If you referred to Adele as a pop artist to most of the general public they'd probably come running to her defense about how much more "meaningful" she is than all that and how dare you slander her.

Nope, nope. Anyone who can't even bother/need to release a video for a huge smash #1 single is not a pop star in the traditional sense as we all recognize it.
She isn't "too new" to be included--in fact, it makes it even more impressive that she's largely matched and in some facets even surpassed the other two in far less time.
Yeah, she's part of the Trinity. She best represents (alongside Brit and Bey) the best that modern contemporary pop currently has to offer- great singles, great touring force, massive fanbase, great album sales, great critical acclaim.
