A Queen or King is someone who is on top, someone who is in control. Therefore, I believe when implying the titles King and Queen of Pop, we should consider who is the most dominant male and female in the music industry AT THIS MOMENT both influence-wise, commercially, and statistically.
I believe that the CURRENT Queen of Pop is Lady Gaga. In the last 4 years, she not only has racked up hit after hit and sold 20 million albums worldwide and over 40 million singles in the United States alone, she managed to take the music industry by storm, and is selling out STADIUMS and has racked up the largest and most prominent fan base in recent memory. She also has CULTURAL influence, more than Madonna had when she was 4 years into her career.
King of Pop, I have no clue, since there has not been a male artist that stands out recently.

Clocked because basic artist look up to a basic artist? And an artist with 7 albums sold more then an artist with two? You're joking right? That just shows your lack of knowledge and common sense. And of course artist that are primarily african american and r 'n' b, they will look up to an african american r 'n' b artist rather then a white popstar.
And if you add in N'Sync's sales, Justin easily trumps Usher.

I agree with your point about Gaga. In response to this sentence though;
Justin Bieber, but should we really call him King?

I was thinking Justin Bieber, but I didn't want to ruin my post like that. The moment someone saw the name King of Pop and Justin Bieber in the same sentence they would forget my post even existed.

Madonna will always be the queen, idk if anyone can accomplish all that she has and her discography is unreal.
Britney is a close contender
Everyone else hasn't been around long enough or had enough accomplishments to deserve that title
(maybe mariah but this decade she isn't as good and she's not as ~pop~)

That would be unfair! Since Justin Timberlake platform was N'Sync's and Timberlake was N'Sync's, why Justin two solo album didn't sold around 15-20 million yet?

All of that is true.
TF: 15 million copies WW.
BTW: 5-6 million copies WW.
Total: 20-21 million.
I CAN list out all of the singles and their sales but that would take too long. And she is selling out STADIUMS (Her two shows in South Africa just sold out, one of the stadiums having a seating capacity of 90K).

Ushers first two albums didn't get 15-20 mill and they've been out longer so that excuse is invalid.

But Usher is supposed to be "local" remember. Justin Timberlake is the one who is this global superstar and since his group were big and Justin was a lot of girl favorite, so why Justin didn't get around 15-20 million worldwide since he everybody favorite of the group ? It funny that Justin first album came out 2 years before Confessions and Confessions still outsold the album both WW and U.S. Confessions is like one of the best selling R&B Album of all time and the #1 Best Selling R&B album of the 2000's. Justin done R&B music with two of his album but since Justin is more "International" than Usher, why didn't Justin outsell Usher WW ?

People are only on Michael's nuts now that he is dead. People werent respecting him before that. I distinctly remember a 2004 Rolling Stone article proclaiming Justin Timberlake as the ''New King of Pop''. Michael wasnt even dead yet and the press were still lookin for a replacement. LMAO. How comical.
Right after Michael died, Usher even said he believed that he was the rightful successor. Then, of course there was the Chris Brown madness about Chris being Michael's heir. There also is the recent spin from Beyonce's companions/PR team naming her ''King B'' and trying to hype her up as if she is the next Michael Jackson. Its natural for delusional stans to think their faves are better than the elders. Look at some of the crazy Gaga stans who claim Gaga is the Queen of Pop. Bish hasnt even been here for 5 years

Madonna is Queen, and Michael is King.
Usher and Justin Timberlake are the princes of pop after Michael. (Chris Brown is nowhere in this equation )
Janet Jackson and Britney Spears are the princesses of pop after Madonna.(Gaga is nowhere in this equation )
Mariah is not queen or princess of pop, she just is Queen of the 90s

It depends on what THEY do. If they flop to the point of becoming irrelevant... I guess they can be replaced.. but as long as they don't **** up their legacy, by not flopping on every level, they will remain the king and queen.
Michael's legacy stands strong and This Is It would have SLAYED. He was still relevant and still no one can come for tha throne.

Madonna is the Queen, no one with her discipline, work ethic, impact, and performance mastery has came, those newcomers that are sometimes labeled as 'queens' is because they are re-hashing something Madonna already did and much better

The definition of Delusion
Madonna was not overshadowed by someone twice her age when she was 4 years into her career

I never understood the need for a dictatorship with POP stars. All this Queen and King crap is so tiring. There is no true definition of pop King or Queen. There are many successful Pop stars in many different ways and at different times.
