Y'all know that Come into My World almost didn't make the album, right? Bonus track Tightrope was on the album in its place. It wasn't even written until a few weeks before the album was sent off for mastering. Kylie heard it, loved it, and plans changed.
Fast forward a few months. June/July 2002. A noted Say Hey poster is outside a board room in Parlophone HQ. He hears that the choices for the fourth single were Come Into My World, Fragile, and Your Love. He is LIVID because the fan favorite back then was Love Affair. CIMW is chosen not just because it's written and produced by the Dennis/Davis team (so is Fragile), but because it's the only song Michel Gondry has interest in directing.
As you can see above, they made the right choice. It gave us THAT video, definitively Kylie's most acclaimed. IT also gave us this truly bracing remix.
Remember when Fischerspooner were a thing? I do!
It also gave Kylie a Grammy, making her the first Australian to win one in twenty years. QUEEN.
