There's enough bezel on the sides that they wouldn't have to make it much wider, and there's more than enough bezel on the top to accommodate a larger screen. Instead of making it drastically taller, they could just make it a little taller and eat through some of that massive top and bottom bezel.
A 4" screen would barely make the phone any bigger, and it's in need of a new look anyway. A cheap, two-toned back doesn't can't as a new look either.
I mean, I'll buy it either way because my 4S is in bad condition, but they're not going to take down Android with that thing. But it isn't abnormal to have these 'leaks' before release, last year everyone was expecting some teardrop shaped **** and then there was a leaked one with a unibody or something, I'm just going to keep my hopes up that this is all promo.
