The wierd thing is that Jay is actually pushing Rita harder than he does his other artists, since from what I've seen Roc Nation is a label where your work ethic determines your success. She's not a bad singer, but right now she depending on the Jay-Z cosign to get her where she wants to go.

She needs to work with Danja or Bangladesh...... And get that distinctive sound that sets her apart.. And I think what worked for Rihanna is her voice. If a radio plays a Rihanna song, even if I haven't heard the song, I'll immediately know its her... She's distinctive in everything she does...

I do hope Rita evolves though. I really like her a lot.

p.s ---rita has had wayyyyy more promo and exposure than rihannas debut but rihanna worked out better cuz even pon de replay sounded differnt, but she looked like a beyonce clone cuz of the hair and pretty face.....and for all you sayin rihs fist album was wack.....her first album is really good ....like much better than most artist her age debuts nowadays

Don't Lie .. It is a big deal to get a #1 in the UK. And it is one of the biggest music market in the world. Majority of Rihanna's sales are from there.. Let's not....

Dunno. I don't think the UK record labels care anymore about #1s, it's all about platinum and gold certificates. Easier to get a #1 than to get a platinum selling single. Nicki Minaj is a bigger artist than Rita Ora in the UK, even without any #1 singles.

You're right, its all about longevity and most UK #1 debuts sell very well. Only a few fallout too quickly....

Nicki got bigger after 'Super Bass' tbh. It had a sick longevity on that chart...
