of course gaga is talented. She truly is, but I think the older generations automatically assume music that's not rock = no not talent. I've talked to so many people in their 40s-60s who knock nowaday music because it's not rock.

But it is true that Gagas image is what made her and it is what the general public and media recognize her by, and it's not like Gagas music is just so AMAZINGLY AWESOME. I mean take away the crazy outfits her music really isn't that different from all the other current artists right now.

Early gaga did come across an artist to me. As time went on & her fane grew she became an attention seeker(fame). She pulls all these stunts in an effort to creat memoral moments. The music was honestly left behind or put in 2nd.

The wat she spoke about music & art in the early parts of the fame were cool & artistic. I loved it. She definatly changed.

In my books, a good artist is one that uses his/her talents for a positive cause. Not for greedy and opressive causes.

They are going after the wrong musician. Lady GaGa started off in bars in New York. There are others, such as Nicole Scherzinger, Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Heidi Montag, Rihanna, who don't put much input into their music who this article should be going after. Those people use music as a platform for their other endeavors, whereas the majority of GaGa's "stunts" play into her music, or musical themes.

I agree that her music isn't AMAZINGLY AWESOME, but as an art, her music certainly overshadows the rest of the pop industry. BTW was and still is completely different from every other pop album out there.

I think they mean like if she just went on an awards show and dressed in a black dress and sang with nothing but a piano, it'd be shocking to some people. They're so used to her theatrical performances, if they got a toned down performance, it'd be "shocking".
