The Fame debuted with like 24K.
The Fame Monster, combined, first-week, I guess something around 325K. And it was Black Friday.

It's bad because most people have already splurged on Holiday sales. It's a very dim market time. I doubt she will debut with 500k. I can see 200-300k at that point in time.
|
I can already see the comments. From 1M to *insert whatever she debuts with, even if she does 800K*. Obviously they will momentarily forget about the Amazon deal when comparing.

People are not in that phase anymore, sis.
Let's just hope for a great album and longevity

Gurl she sold 700k albums, without the amazon thing, and a lead single about homosexuality and a bombing second single
What makes you think she can't sell +500k in one week with a radio-friendly song about partying?

Yes, it's Gaga. But she will be coming off of BTW era with 2 underperforming singles in a row releasing during the worst period of sales in the year after a year break in terms of singles. What can you actually expect?

Yeah, that's true. It's a great time for us with birthday's in January/February though
Well, 300k is fine I guess.

Her last two singles flopped...She hasn't the same hype and anticipation she had when she released BTW ...and the new album will be released in Q1.
Edit: Basically Allstar's post.

Yeah, longevity is better than great debut with a big drop.

btw, does no one consider a huge lead single putting some earlier singles to shame? "2 flop singles" but we don't know how the next single will do at all.

Radio-friendly songs about partying aren't really the type that sell albums, too. You should know that

Since when do radio-friendly songs about partying (as if you have already heard the single) sell albums? Look at Nicki, Rihanna, Pitbull, Flo-Rida.
BTW opened with 700-800K coming from one of the most successful eras in pop music, after a year worth of hype, a 6-weeks number one lead single and one of the biggest promotional campaigns in music history.

Like TFM. I hope she can have her huge longevity back, because that's why she used to sell so much, not because of big debuts but because she sold long time. A #1 debut should be very likely during that time, though.

No, they do not. TF wasn't that big of a seller until she released TFM...

It still won't be the usual "PARTY PARTY I'm so drunk. Let's dance. Shake your ass . Drop that bass*dance breakdown*" though Gaga wouldn't

Yes they are, but i think it's the biggest indicator of the size of an active fan-base.

Of course it won't. I was just saying that because it was said a party anthem could help her having huge sales, which really more depends on what kind of club banger it will be.

She won't ever have that kind of longevity. Her fanbase is just too huge and gives her frontloaded openings.

TF was a debut though, this will be a 4th album and people will know more about the album release than TF. TF had so many different release dates as well.
