They don't really have any choice but to treat her like she's new again... they took way to long to release the album so people have kinda forgotten about her so they need to test the water with different styles to see which one the public are here for

put it on repeat for a little bit... you will love it. I actually hated it on the first listen... but it grew on me and now I love it

And yes the need to get on with the promo... I think they will be planning something due to the great responce the song has recieved. I mean out of all the songs that have been released this is the one thats getting the best responce so far
