Fandango reports that "The Dark Knight Rises," on the eve of its opening weekend, is outpacing the summer blockbuster "The Avengers" in ticket sales at the same point in the sales cycle. The final chapter of Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy has sold out on Fandango more than 2,000 showtimes nationwide and it's currently on track to become one of Fandango's top-selling movies of all time.

"Thursday's ticket sales are incredibly strong, as film fans are flocking to Fandango to guarantee their seats for the film's opening weekend," says Rick Butler, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Fandango. "The IMAX showtimes are particular fast-sellers, as almost every one of our Thursday midnight IMAX showtimes have been sold out. The good news is that theater owners are continually posting new showtimes on Fandango to meet the fan demand, so tickets are still available."

"The Dark Knight Rises" currently accounts for 91% of daily ticket sales, selling out coast-to-coast from big cities like New York and Los Angeles, to smaller towns like Sunrise, Florida to Puyallup, Washington. The film also promises to be one of Fandango's all-time top mobile ticket-sellers, with nearly 30% of the site's fans on Thursday using Fandango's mobile site and apps to buy their tickets in advance.

All the shows at the real IMAX theatre in my city is sold out for the weekend. They just added a new show for tomorrow night at 1am but tickets cannot be booked online. I have to stay up till 8am when they open so I can book my ticket over the phone.

‘Dark Knight Rises’ Starts Foreign Release
“Dominating” 9 Countries With $10.4M

Warner Bros Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures‘ 2D The Dark Knight Rises began its international release Thursday by “dominating everywhere”, according to my sources. I’ve learned the foreign gross so far is an incredible $10.4M from only 9 countries. This is 83% higher than 2008′s The Dark Knight in the same markets. (Not calculating for inflation and higher ticket prices.) The 3 key territories that opened today were: Australia AUD$3.66M (US$3.74M) from 628 screens. That’s 60% ahead of The Dark Knight‘s opening day. “This is particularly spectacular considering that today is not a holiday versus TDK’s holiday opening day,” an exec tells me .As good as Chris Nolan’s Batpic finale’s opening day is, it was well below Marvel’s The Avengers, which smashed the Australian box office on its opening day of release with a record breaking AUD$6M (USD$6.2M). Of course Avengers was 3D and also opened on one of Australia’s biggest holidays: ANZAC. Whereas The Dark Knight Rises opening didn’t include a holiday. And Korea KRW 3.15b (US$2.7m) from 1059 screens, which is 131% higher than The Dark Knight‘s opening. And Taiwan NT$ 26.3m (US$878k) from 228 screens, which is 175% ahead of The Dark Knight. Australia began The Dark Knight Rises foreign rollout: Warner Bros this coming weekend is releasing into only 17 international markets, representing 6,300 screens. These include 4 of the Top Ten markets: UK, Spain, Australia, and Korea.

It's an amazing movie, Anne Hathaway slays the role as Cat Women.. and it's filled with action. I honestly can't think of a better movie released yet this year.

I was gasping, crying, cheering, dying, laughing, more crying, and most of all ******** my pants.
the movie was breathtaking and I was literally on the edge of my seat the entire time. Take your family, take your neighbors, take your dog..etc everyone needs to see this movie.

I have seen the glory of Batman.


Y'all better get your asses there and see it asap, then come tell me how much you loved it.
