Pink: She's Not Happy Being Happy
The Truth About Pink: She's Not Happy Being Happy
'Listening back on this album, I realize I must be happier [and] it's kind of scaring me,' Pink tells MTV News about The Truth About Love.

Quote:
By now, you are probably aware that Pink has officially returned with "Blow Me (One Last Kiss)," a song that, like most of her signature hits, doesn't pull any punches — except, as it turns out, when it comes to its title.
"My new single is called 'Blow Me.' ... I believe the record company added the '(One Last Kiss)' " Pink told MTV News. "The moment I heard it and it was finished, I thought, 'This is the song at 2 a.m., in New York, dancing, drunk, letting off steam.' I could picture all my punk-rock friends dancing and singing along on the dance floor."
While she may have relented on the title, Pink still believes that "Blow Me" hits its mark (even if it does so rather drunkenly), but even she will admit that it's not exactly the best introduction to her upcoming The Truth About Love album. Mostly because, as has been the case throughout her career, her albums aren't really the kinds of things that can be introduced — properly, or otherwise.
Pink Reveals The Star Behind Her Album
"It's always funny for me with first singles; even my dearest, most loyal fans are always like 'I hate her first single choice.' Always. Because it's really hard for one song to represent a whole Pink album, because a whole Pink album doesn't make sense. The only common thread is my voice," she explained. "You're going to have rock and roll, you're going to have R&B. You're going to have a country ballad and a folk song and a pop, Max Martin, radio-friendly hit. So I think that's kind of the mystery bag, that's what's fun.
"Although, listening back on this album as a whole thing, it's still a clusterf---, but I realize I must be happier, because it's a lot of dancing and rock and roll," she laughed. "I don't know, it's kind of scaring me."
And while there are no shortage of good times on Love, Pink said the album takes its title — and, really, its themes — from one of its most personal tracks: a song she wrote about her lifelong struggles to find a connection, and, even when she finally did, trying to come to terms with that fact. So, yes, while she may finally be happy, she's not exactly happy about that fact.
" 'The Truth About Love' is one of my favorite songs on the record, but I realized it also sums up my whole adventure in this lifetime. I used to be really motivated to do really dangerous and stupid things for love, and I was really fearful of love," she said. "When I was a little girl, 'love' meant fighting and bickering and losing your parents. But now love is also having a child and unconditional and beautiful and, with my husband, sexual. Musically, it's not a Sade record, where you know what you're going to get when you put it on. It's a Pink record; you have no idea what you're going to get. I don't know what I'm doing when I go in to record an album, so I think that's the theme: questions and experiences and running from — and running to — love."

She has said that several times, actually.
But the titles we've received so far seem like Ballads to me

Dancey doesn't really mean anything... She dances to everything on that stage. lol I mean, I've seen her backup singers dance to Who Knew.

I love how she knows that some of her fans don't usually love her first singles. Blow Me is actually one of the only first singles I actually love from her. lol

She has admitted in the past that she visits her forum. I think.. or maybe she said something that she only would have known had she visited her forum.. lol Anyways, she pays attention to what we, as fans, want to see from her. Everyone was pissed we didn't Mean on the Funhouse tour, and she performed it on the Summer Carnival. We all wanted to hear her version of Whataya Want From Me, and we got that. There's been a few other instances, so I know she's not clueless when it comes to knowing what we want. However, at the end of the day, she is P!nk, and its her choices. I don't think she'll do everything the fans want, because she has to be comfortable doing it, but I feel like if she wants to make it happen for us, it will happen.

Omg. Is that also the reason why she sang Heartbreaker that one time randomly? I love her so much, she's so nice.
