Like it crossed over on several formats and was #1 for 7 weeks or something and sold a crap ton. I still hear it all the time. I know Hollaback Girl was big, but imo Rolling in the Deep DOMINATED music in 2011.  |

Everybody and their dog knows Low. That song was massive. I still hear it a lot. Flo Rida may not be able to sell albums, but he's had some huge singles. In The Ayer, Right Round anyone?   |

Rumors are Lil Wayne's "My Homes Still" music video featuring Big Sean premieres on BET's 106 & Park tomorrow!
Wonder if it'll give the single life

Yea, it had higher singles because Hollaback Girl was released in 2005
2. 21 may have sold more, but you can't accredit all that to RITD. 21 did go #1 before it was a hit and majority of the sales were after RITD.
3. Image isn't really relevant to commercial success
4. Hollaback Girl was a huge crossover hit too, and in 2005 it didn't have YouTube and social media that helped RITD in that aspect.
5. Critical acclaim isn't really commercial success either
6. I will give you that RITD was bigger WW, but I'm pretty sure our point is just for the US.  |

 Were "Low" and "Lollipop" local?
I don't think I've ever heard them, "Right Round" was played a lot here, though.

Both Rolling in the Deep and Hollaback Girl are iconic. They were released in two completely different digital sales climates, however, so any comparison there is going to be flawed.   |

In terms of success, IMO :
Rolling In the Deep > Low > Hollaback Girl > Lollipop.

Low is still one of Flo Rida's best songs, but my favorite song of Flo's to date is Wild Ones because of Sia. She took it to another level.

Gwen's best song is Wind It Up.    |

LOL @ "Rolling in the Deep" not being in the media. It was only the most covered song of 2011 - covered by millions of people, including popular artists. And no, "Hollaback Girl" was not bigger than "Rolling in the Deep."   |

As for #1s. I think Carly will have it for a few more weeks, and then hopefully Flo Rida will dethrone her, when his airplay is higher. He's doing good on both pop and rhythmic, and I think he might go top 50 on urban with the song aswell, so that'll give him a really good airplay peak in a couple of months time.
 | Eh... It would have been a shame if it had peaked at number two, but perhaps if it had, the Monsters wouldn't be so bitter over Bad Romance. Either way, it might not have sold as much if it had actually been blocked from number one, which really does make a difference...

But "Call Me Maybe" will more than likely pass it in sales just as "Rolling In the Deep" has.  |
