Keep on Pumpin' It is an average 90s house/dance track, but the collab indeed helped Kylie get into sounds that would later define her dance/pop gems. We thank Visionmasters and Tony King for that.
The first and LEAD single off of Kylie's fourth album, Let's Get to It, Word is Out found Kylie at a turning point of sorts. The whole album was a rush, in a way - Kylie had originally signed a 3+1 album deal (3 albums and a greatest hits), but after the underperformance of her third album, decided to stay with PWL for one more album. One of the label's three major songwriters, Matt Aitken, had left, leaving more room for Kylie to co-write - but also cutting down on the melodic strength of the songs at hand. The result? Word is Out, a very British attempt at New Jack Swing that many fans referred to as "hookless." It became Kylie's first single to miss the British top ten, charting at number sixteen.
Fun Fact: Australia got WiO as the Summer Breeze mix, taking it to the top ten of the ARIA charts.
How to potentially break Kylie into the US music market, when the market has rapidly changed since the last time she hit there? Hook her up with an American R&B/hip-hop star! (Oh, how this never works.)
If You Were with Me Now, a collabo between Kylie and sometime hitmaker Keith Washington, was chosen as the second single from Let's Get to It after British radio stations reacted positively towards it. It stands the test of time due to three things:
1) This is Kylie's first credit as a co-writer
2) It's not entirely sure that she and Keith ever met, as they recorded their vocals and the parts in the video in separate locations
Useless. Purposeless. Kylie loves performing it, but she didn't have to record it - or release it. Gross. Flat and gross. Barely made the UK top twenty, and missed the Aussie top twenty - with good reason.
Celebration is gone. No, you all pressed souls can't take its epicness.
I hated it at first. But it was such a grower, to the point that it's one of my all time favorite Kylie tracks.
You're all heartless, and if it would not have messed up Duca's beautiful graphics I would have UPGRADED my score from 9.5 to 10.
But I can't. It's too late.

God Bless YouTube.
Wouldn't Change a Thing was released as the second single from Enjoy Yourself. Although not a HUGE success, it did peak at two on the UK charts - her third or fourth in a fourteen month span.
More important, however, was the song and video itself. For the first time, the production was slightly risky, including elements of hip-hop (the drumbeats at the beginning) and rock (the electric guitar solo in the middle). Furthermore, the video showcased a more mature Kylie than any of her previous videos; audiences even saw her navel! This was also the first Kylie video/song that got serious play in British gay clubs, marking her beginnings as THE premier gay icon of our time. (Deal ****.)
