So how about I just spend like the past 10 minutes responding to some trash on another site.
Quote:
This thread is absolute MESS.
F_cking death at the people saying she's lipping, gyal BYE. Not ONE bit of this lipped and that's the truth. When have you guys ever known Nicki to lip? Nicki will either sing, or she'll just stop and let the backing track play (she did that in basically all the Starships performances). I have the video open in one tab, and earphones in, so let's start from the top.
The chorus starts off the song. During this part, all you hear is the backing track. Nicki is doing her little arm movements and is not pretending to sing along at all. The music is playing and Nicki is dancing.
You then hear the backing track say that "Uh" that Nicki says right before the first verse.
Nicki then starts rapping with no backing track (except for the accents, like "Yo", "WHOA!", and "What?"). You can clearly hear the difference between that previous "Uh" and the following rapping.
Then the second chorus starts. The backing track is present and is strong, but she's not lipping to the track. You can hear her voice on top of the recorded track.
Second verse, the backing track is still present, but it's not nearly as loud as it is during the chorus. You can without a doubt hear her voice on top of the recorded track here. Her vocals aren't perfect, that's easy to hear, but you can tell she's trying. One part you can notice is that while the backing track sings "We won't do it for life", Nicki slurs the words together and ends up sounding like "dowit".
Third chorus, same notes as the second.
I shouldn't have to do this, but one of you girls said she was lipping her adlibs. First of all, those adlibs change in every performance. Don't even try it with that pre-recorded mess, Nicki ain't got time for that. Secondly, one of you said the mike wasn't even at her mouth. IDK what kinda pixelated low quality video you were watching, but I watched it on my HD television and you can clearly see her moving her hand to her mouth for each "HEY!" and back out to continue dancing. And even if the mike wasn't right at her mouth, why are you acting like she uses a microphone from 1980 that can't pick up sound over a couple inches away? I mean, you can clearly hear Xtina's roars when her mike is miles high in air, so c'mon with that. Not to mention, those adlibs sound nothing like the clear backing track parts like that "Uh" in the beginning. But anyway.
Last chorus. For some reason, I can hear her MUCH more clearly than in the previous choruses. You can make out her voice just as clear as in the second verse.
Now, if you're gonna come back at me with "LA LA LA LA LA, She's lipping and I DON'T WANNA HEAR IT", then don't waste your time replying.
Thanks for reading.
