One more thing, quite important imo. GGGB era was probaly the most signifant era in Rihanna's career so far. Her fanbase started to grew like crazy... and that was really meaningful to her longevity on the market. She got audience interest.
Katy - despite the successful singles people are not here for her in general. Her concert movie sank on her biggest market. It means that although she did her best, people are here for her likeable tunes but not for her as a singer... and it is... embarrassing

Please shut up. I am a fan of both and not delusional. Rihanna's movie would do just as much as Katy's. I had a hard time choosing, but eventually went with TD. GGGB was groundbreaking too, it produced Umbrella, sold more albums. But remember that TD still sells, and it actually has a lot more success with singles, US and WW. Also TD spawned many memorable videos as well, which is a factor in the end.
