REVOLUTION - Ke$ha
Issue Date: Tuesday, August 31st
The second studio album by American Recording Artist, Ke$ha Sebert, serves as a staggering comeback after a more than lengthly break. For this album, Ke$ha spent time during her tour writing songs for the album that centered around her experiences and the people she met on the road. No sophomore slump is present for Ms. Sebert here, as she lets out every emotion possible for a human to feel in no short of an hour. Sebert talks about lost love, new romances, and of course, the niche that made her famous; partying. In the track "Snare Drum", Sebert raps (or "sing talks", as she has so famously called it) over a bouncing 'rata tat tat' percussion line, taking the word "dancing to the beat" to a whole new level. On the flipside, the somber yet powerful track "You Control My Heart", produced by the Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Conye, Ke$ha talks about a lover that she cannot get away from, a track that will make any critic reconsider their opinion on Ms. Sebert. Previous Demos, Bootycall and Red Lipstick, have been reworked and penned onto the album, adding some sexy, sultry, seductive flair to the already energy driven album. Ke$ha introduces a genre previously unknown to her listeners, that she likes to call "****-Pop", which is assertive, sassy yet quirky pop rock that will have her listeners strumming their air guitars in tune. A flowing, wonderfully constructed album, this new, gleaming package blows her last album "Animal" out of the water, and then some. While bias surely may exist about Ms. Sebert, this album will make any headstrong doubter take a second look.

Singles
First Single - Revolution (Released July 17th, 2012) - Peak: #1
This song, an anthemic club and radio friendly song, references "overthrowing" the norm and the rules, and illustrates that we don't need a ruler to control us. Smashes worldwide and sparks high interesting among already rebellious teenagers. Has some elements of "Woo Hoo" incorporated.
Second Single - Supernatural (Released August 24th)- Peak #2
This song, a club banging, choral buildup, talks about being in love with someone who is non existant and does not understand you (a supernatural being). The song is a great follow up single to Revolution, does very well outside of the US, but does not match the worldwide success. Blocks Lady Gaga's new song but is also blocked by Katy Perrys newest song at #1.
Third Single - Snare Drum (Released November 13th, 2012) - Peak #4
Elements of Hip Hop, infused with thumping, dirty beats, makes a sassy, sexy, and pure dancefloor perfection, which talks about how drums can make the body move in all sorts of ways, on the floor and in between the sheets.
Fourth Single - Bright Lights (feat. Sia) (Released January 7th, 2013) - Peak #1
Bright Lights, a guitar synth pop rock smash, featuring Sia, serves as the fourth single. Bridging off of the sound that has become mainstream by acts like P!nks, this song talks about a cityscape and how easy it is to find love among the many people. Rockets up the charts and becomes a worldwide smash, charting in nearly every music tracking country.
Fifth Single - Bootycall - (Released March 12th, 2013) - Peak #5
This song, featuring rocky synths and happy go lucky drum production makes its way to radio at the beginning of January. She talks about a boy that she just wants to hook up with, no feelings attached, but expresses that she may have feelings for him. Pekas very high in the US at #5, but fares better overseas, peaking at #1 in the UK and most of Asia.
Sixth Single (Final) - Firecracker (Released June 18th, 2013) - Peak #1
This song serves as Ke$ha's last single from this near perfect era. A pop rock smash, a la Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream", has Ke$ha talking about living in the moment, and wanting to explode into new sorts of fun and havoc and partying. This song starts peaking as the 4th of July comes nearer, and charts very high worldwide, although not as high as the US, due to being primarily patriotic themed. (It is banned in some Asian Continents)
Ke$ha embarks on the "Revolution Tour" in May of 2013, and returns home in February of 2014 to begin promoting her next album, Warrior. This tour grosses exponentially well, making roughly $100 million USD.
That is my "perfect era". I hope you all enjoyed
