First of all, Teenage Dream did sell 2 million BEFORE the re-release.
Now tell me, how many pop girls besides Katy & Gaga have +2M selling album in the US in the last 3-4 years?
It did NOT.
It was stuck at ~1.9M for the longest while. The rerelease is what made it cross that mark.
The other girls wish their albums had this kind of amazing longevity.
No shade but after EIGHT singles with massive promo and big budget videos, a re-release and a documentary film it would be embarassing if it DIDN'T have longevity.

Nope. It crossed the 2M spot before then. TD:CC hasn't sold that much. With the original and special edition combined, the album is at ~2.3M. No way, it pushed 400k.
She released a re-release a few weeks ago and she has a new single and a new movie. Of course the sales will rise. People not buying the 2 y/o version of it.
But it still a big success. I hope Wide Awake will hit the #1 spot soon.
Congratz, Katy.
Sis that album was released on March 26, it's now July 7th.
What time zone are you in which makes that equal 2 weeks

So having 8 massive singles (3 of which didn't have much of any promo), a re-release, and a concert film aren't impressive themselves?
