You know, I find it unusual that Kelly only breaks out her high notes when on Duets. We hardly ever got G5's until the show started—not even in large award show performances. I wonder why?

I've been wondering the same thing actually
I can see her not doing them on award shows because she doesn't like to showoff, but since she is competitive I think she is pretty strategic at these things.. I bet she would throw high notes in to get votes (like when she did the whistle note on Idol)
or maybe it's just that the songs she has been singing on Duets have more opportunity for her high notes
But someone, please tell me how her voice is sounding so powerful recently? It wasn't this great at the beginning of the Stronger era and now it's just so BIG! It's like the powerful Kelly from AI but more mature and soulful. I'm so lucky we stan for the best.

The live Duets shows are DEFINITELY much more exciting than the taped ones. There's much more energy and you can clearly see it when you're watching. IF they do season two, all the shows need to be live. Except the first few audition ones, obviously.

I remember when I was watching troubadour & thinking how flawless her voice was then. She let it loose that night & always thought that was only a sneak peak of what she could really do.
