BTW (the album) doubly outsold Ke$ha's total album sales worldwide.
It depends on what direction Ke$ha is taking this album. If she goes the fun route then she should be good to go. If she tries to change and veer to far from what made her big then she'll fail. She isn't as big of a name as Gaga was for BTW, but I think Ke$ha should be good to go.
Now if Gaga goes commercial she'll be fine. I'm sure she's going to try and be the It girl again.
I actually think both can smash together. Almost everyone else will be between eras, and I think both will reach #1 with their lead singles.
And the singles from Animal were bigger than the singles from BTW except the comparison that YLIMD=TEOG. That's just wrong. TEOG is a cultural staple now in a way that YLIMD never was. (Graduations, Stadiums, Etc.)
Either could flop tbh. If Gaga is going to her Fame roots again, then she'll blow Ke$ha out of the water.
If Gaga is going for another BTW, then Ke$ha will blow her out of the water.
It just all depends on the music. Gaga has the advantage though, since she has a MUCH bigger fan base.
